Convenient village location and in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park

View of the River Usk and16th century Llangynidr bridge
The village of Llangynidr is well-known for its 5 canal locks and ancient, narrow bridge and is the perfect base from which to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park. The friendly village shop is just next door and is a good place from which to buy essentials. There are also two pubs (serving excellent meals), one of which, "The Coach and Horses", is just a few minutes walk away.
There are many things to see and do within the immediate vicinity and there are some really special places that you can reach, right from your doorstep. Aside from pretty canal-side walks, one of our favourite strolls is the walk along the river bank.
The scenery around the village is spectacular. There are stunning views of Llangynidr Mountain and the other surrounding hills and countryside.
The Brecon Beacons National Park provides a wealth of things to see and do and is the perfect destination for every kind of outdoor activity! There are also many interesting towns and villages to visit - Hay on Wye ("The Town of Books") is only 20 minutes away; Crickhowell (10 minutes away) also provides an interesting day out, with its wonderful mix of interesting shops and cafes. Brecon is also well worth a visit and the beautiful cathedral is open to the public. Please visit our Things to See and Do page for more information about where to visit in the Brecon Beacons.
